COMMUNITY COLLABORATIONS & PARTNERSHIPS

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

Front Porch CDA, Inc. has an extended partnership with the Moffitt Cancer Center at the University of South Florida (Tampa), working collaboratively as a community partner to provide community engagement and research opportunities aimed at reducing cancer health disparities—particularly breast, colorectal, and prostate cancer—within Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties.

In July 2024, the Front Porch organization was awarded a Catalytic Capacity Building Grant by the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg. The Foundation is a private organization formed in 2013 following the sale of the nonprofit hospital Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. As the steward of an endowment supporting health equity in Pinellas County, the Foundation believes every person, family, and community should have the opportunity to attain their highest level of health and well-being, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, zip code, or other social or demographic factors. The Foundation seeks to address health disparities, improve population health, and achieve health equity through racial equity by listening humbly, learning fearlessly, and leading courageously to drive systems change.

In June 2024, the Front Porch organization was selected to receive capacity-building support and services from the Hypatia Collaborative. Hypatia Collaborative serves as the administrative hub and umbrella for a network of nonprofit consultants and vendors. Utilizing a case management approach, the Collaborative conducts an intake process and uses an assessment tool to establish an organizational baseline. This baseline forms a roadmap for progress and guides referrals to appropriate vendors within the network.

In March 2025, the organization was awarded a two-year general operating grant from Allegany Franciscan Ministries to support the organization’s administrative operations while enhancing infrastructure and capacity.

COMMUNITY SOCIAL IMPACT

For the past 8 years, Front Porch has coordinated, implemented, facilitated, and sponsored the Front Porch 9th Annual Christmas Gifts and Giveaways Event, held annually in December. This event provides children and youth in need with all new items such as clothing, shoes, toys, games, educational supplies, jewelry, stuffed animals, accessories, undergarments, sleepwear, school supplies, trinkets, and additional keepsakes. Since its implementation in 2016, the annual events have served 435 families and 1,300 children and youth — from infants to 16 years old.
